It’s not all good news - The disadvantages of buying a foreclosure.

Although there are many advantages to buying a Bakersfield foreclosure, there are also a number of disadvantages that every buyer should know about before making an offer on one of these homes.
- Since we are dealing with the lender rather than a homeowner, it usually takes a considerable amount of time to find out if they are willing to accept your offer, sometimes more than a month.
- Many of the foreclosures for sale in Bakersfield are very nice homes and in excellent condition, but there are also a large number that are in disrepair or that have been vandalized and will need a lot of work.
- When buying a Bakersfield foreclosure you need to be aware that these homes are sold as-is. The lien holders are usually not willing to give any type of warranty or guarantee the property condition (you can purchase your own home warranty). We always recommend a home inspection when purchasing any home and in the case of foreclosures it’s very important to know what your getting into.
